Welcome Blog Post

Thank you for visiting my blog dedicated to my research and travels to the coldest continent on the planet: Antarctica. It has been a dream of mine to visit this place for many, many years and I am excited both for the journey ahead and the opportunity to share that journey with you. I would like to invite you to subscribe to my blog and invite any others you believe would be interested. I will be posting updates with more details on the research I am involved in, as well as passing along the stories and photographs of life in Antarctica while I am there. As of now, I am scheduled to leave the U.S. at the end of October and travel to New Zealand, and then on to Antarctica to begin a 3-year project focused on measuring snowfall. My team members and I are currently under a hard deadline to ship all of our equipment by September 5th and are busy preparing everything to make sure the sensors and communications are working. Once the sensors have shipped, I'll have more time to update this blog with details on what we are doing, what we hope to accomplish, and how I was able to become a part of this extraordinary opportunity. Thank you for visiting and sharing this experience with me. I hope you will enjoy this reading this blog as much as I will enjoy sharing it with you. The adventure is just beginning!
